UV LED wavelength
UV LED lamps have narrow spectral output focused on a specific wavelength (+/- 10nm). This monochromatic distribution (see chart) requires a new chemical formulation to ensure proper curing of inks, coatings and adhesives.
Comparison of spectral distribution between UV LED and mercury lamp
Most UV curing is carried out in a narrow spectral emission range, and the remaining spectral output will produce unnecessary and even potentially harmful far ultraviolet (UV-C) and infrared emission. UV LED light provides this narrow spectral emission range. UV LED curing lamp can effectively convert 15-30% of the input power into usable ultraviolet light, and does not contain harmful UV-C or infrared. Such high energy efficiency is equivalent to saving about 80% of the energy and heat loss of mercury lamp.
